Now in its 134th season, the Boston Symphony Orchestra gave its inaugural concert in 1881, realizing the dream of its founder, the Civil War veteran/businessman/philanthropist Henry Lee Higginson, who envisioned a great and permanent orchestra in his hometown of Boston. Today the BSO reaches millions of listeners, not only through its concert performances in Boston and at Tanglewood, but also via the internet, radio, television, educational programs, recordings, and tours.

BOSTON BAROQUE: Founded in 1973 by Music Director Martin Pearlman, and celebrating its 40th Anniversary in the 2013 – 2014 season, Boston Baroque’s orchestra is made up of some of the finest period-instrument players in the United States and they are frequently joined by the ensemble’s professional chorus and by world-class, top instrumental and vocal soloists from around the globe. The ensemble presents an exciting annual subscription series consisting of five programs that are performed at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall in Boston, Massachusetts or at Harvard University’s Sanders Theatre in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

BOSTON MIDSUMMER OPERA seeks to introduce New England audiences to professional singers of exceptional talent through a fresh, inventive approach to opera. Sung in English and imaginatively staged, Boston Midsummer Opera productions aim to make opera both accessible and affordable while adhering to the highest musical and dramatic standards. Our goal is to widen the audience for opera by mounting dynamic productions with vibrantartists that will attract new listeners as well as appeal to discriminating opera fans.

BOSTON CHILDREN’S CHORUS (BCC) harnesses the power and joy of music to unite our city's diverse communities and inspire social change. Our singers transcend social barriers in a celebration of shared humanity and love of music. Through intensive choral training and high-profile public performance experience (locally, throughout the U.S. and around the world), they learn discipline, develop leadership skills, and proudly represent the city of Boston as ambassadors of harmony. Since the BCC's inception, our programs have grown rapidly. BOSTON CHILDREN’S MUSEUM is the second oldest, and one of the most influential children’s museums in the world. It was founded in 1913 by the Science Teachers' Bureau, a group of visionary educators dedicated to providing new resources for both teachers and students, as a center for the exchange of materials and ideas to advance the teaching of science. For over 100 years it has been engaging children in joyful discovery experiences that instill an appreciation of our world, develop foundational skills, and spark a lifelong love of learning. BOSTON LYRIC OPERA is the largest opera company in all of New England. Now in its 37th season, BLO celebrates the art of the voice through its mission of building curiosity, enthusiasm and support for opera by creating musically and theatrically compelling productions, events, and educational resources for the Boston community and beyond. Since its founding in 1976, the company has staged world premieres, U.S. premieres, co-productions and co-commissions of note with organizations such as The Royal Opera, Covent Garden and Scottish Opera, and continues to be a destination for some of the leading artists, conductors, directors and designers from around the world.

THE CELEBRITY SERIES OF BOSTON was established by Aaron Richmond in 1938, and has since evolved into New England's major presenting organization with over 100 performance and outreach activities annually. Each season from October to May, the Celebrity Series presents more than 50 multi-cultural and international artists and performing ensembles to audiences in the greater Boston area. By utilizing a number of different performance venues throughout the Boston area, each year the Celebrity Series presents programs of classical music, modern and classical dance, jazz, folk, world music, family music and multi-media performances.

THE FRIENDS OF THE BROOKLINE PUBLIC LIBRARY is a non-profit organization formed more than thirty years ago for the purpose of fostering close relations between the Brookline Public Library and its community of users. The Friends lend support to the functions, resources, services, and needs of the Library in order to enhance the experience of Library users. In addition to running an ongoing used book sale, the organization's activities include sponsoring educational and cultural programming for adults, teens and children, conducting ESL-related classes, promoting Library staff development, and partnering with other community organizations to benefit the community at large.

HUNTINGTON THEATRE COMPANY: Recipient of the 2013 Regional Theatre Tony Award and Bostonmagazine's 2013 Best of Boston award, the Huntington Theatre Company is Boston's leading professional theatre and one of the region's premiere cultural assets. Under the direction of Artistic Director Peter DuBois and Managing Director Michael Maso, and in residence at Boston University, the Huntington cultivates, celebrates, and champions theatre as an art form.
